Winchester workshop

Also posted on our wiki ~ http://odgit.pbworks.com

Here's the programme for the Winchester workshop...

1000  Introductions

1015  The Middlesex experience

1030  Key messages from Stage One of the project

1100  Change and IT Projects

1150  Recommendations for the PVC

1200  End of workshop

1215-1300 Meeting with PVC

We had a small audience, but perfectly formed. Head of IT, Head of Learning Development, a Dean, and three others with varying degrees if involvement in e-ish things. Good session - lots of discussion then a very useful - and somewhat confidential - conversation with the Winchester PVC.

We didn't stick to the timing on the programme, Donna's session (key messages) prompted lots of discussion and ran over, but the thrust of the session was clearly in line with the view that IT change was fudamentally about people. Marina's slides evoked plenty of nods of agreement.

There were some powerful comments to the PVC, I'll leave it to Bex to provide a public version later.

The main message that I took away from the session is very much in line with the view emerging from phase one, that IT projects are fundamentally change projects and need to be seen as such.
